I discovered my love of painting while in Kindergarten in front of an easel with a
huge piece of paper. When I dipped my brush into one of the many pots of color
and made marks on the paper I was totally hooked. Always encouraged by my
family and paternal grandfather, an architect, I continued to pursue painting from
grade school through college. After raising a family, I am now able to devote
more time to my passion.
Early in my career, I used oils, then switched to acrylics because I could paint
so quickly. In the last three years I returned to oils to stay. Nothing can rival
their richness and luminosity. My paintings are my way of capturing beautiful
light as it pours over the hills, through the trees and how it plays on the water.
My style can best be described as impressionistic, using glowing color and a
variety of brushstrokes to communicate the essence of time and place.
I have studied extensively with Anita Wolff and Howard Stover.
