Deborah Plath
I was born in the Bay Area and moved to Sacramento as a teenager. My first art teacher in high school was Ken Waterstreet; Ken helped spark my lifelong interest in art and painting. Later in college, I studied under Gary Pruner. My teachers and area artists, such as Wayne Thiebaud and Gregory Kondos, have inspired me and helped me hone my skills. I have painted many commissioned pieces for clients, I was a member of an art cooperative in Fair Oaks, I have participated in several juried shows and been a docent at Crocker Art Museum.
With my family grown and my nursing career coming to close, I plan to dedicate more of my time to my art and the local art community. My style is photorealistic and my subjects are varied. Portraits, landscapes, seascapes and still lifes are some of my favorites. My most recent paintings have included flowers, fly fishing experiences, Lake Tahoe and it’s wildlife, and Sacramento’s rivers and bluffs.
